PHYSCIAL EXERCISE AND ITS BENEFITS

Physical exercise is any bodily activity that promotes or sustains physical fitness and overall health and well-being.

In an attempt to meet the above needs, different exercise programs were developed. These include flexibility exercise package, aerobic, and anaerobic programs.

The flexibility package deal with the stretching of the body and helps to improve the range of movement of the muscles and joints. Activities like cycling, swimming, walking, skipping, dancing, mowing the lawn, tending the garden, playing football or table tennis are aerobic in form and focuses  on increasing cardiovascular strength and its endurance capabilities. Anaerobic activity such as weight training increases short term muscle strength.

Regular physical exercise has many health benefits. It minimizes tear and wear of the body and helps it to accommodate a lot of bashing without breaking down.

Regular physical activity boosts the immune system and helps the body to build a natural defense against the 'diseases of affluence' such as certain types of cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. It is an effective form of prevention and management of the above mentioned diseases.Participation in physical activity enhances mental soundness, promotes positive self-esteem and individual sex appeal or body image and it equally helps to prevent depression as well as the effect of childhood obesity. Active people live longer and feel better. With regular physical exercise, the quantity of triglycerides is trimmed down and the density of lipoprotein is boosted to keep your blood flowing smoothly by lowering the build up of cholesterol (plagues) in your arteries.

When you engage in regular physical exercise, you burn off excess calories and the quantity burned depends on the intensity of the exercise. Interestingly, simple physical activity such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, taking a walk during your lunch break, doing jumping jack during commercials or taking a 30minutes walk can yield outstanding results.

During physical exercise, sufficient oxygen and nutrients are delivered to your tissues due to improved blood circulation through the heart to your blood vessels. This helps them to work more efficiently so you can do the things you love doing.

Physical exercise relaxes the body and helps you to fall asleep easier and to enjoy a deeper sleep too. However, it is highly recommended that you do not have to exercise too close to your bedtime or else you will be too active to fall asleep. The benefits of a good sleep driven by exercise are enhanced concentration, productivity, and good mood.

Exercise could be used as a stress management tool. It can be used to ease off frustration and anger when life's annoyances builds up. exercise like boxing, martial arts, or weight training can provide an effective means of releasing these negative emotions. The said unhealthy emotions could be turned into motivation for increased health and wellness. Exercise can reduce 'stress hormones' like cortisol and boost endorphin which is your body's 'feel good' chemicals.
Once you are engaged in physical activity, your mind is distracted from problems that gives you stress and it is focused on the activity at hand. For those who are concerned about their appearance and worry about their unhealthy look, regular exercise helps to maintain good weight, tones the body, and assists in the maintenance of a healthy glow and a smile.Since physical activity can often involve others, it is fun fare for friends and family. You can enjoy a double dose of stress relief with the combined merits of exercise and fun with friends.
While stress can lead to illness, illness can cause stress coupled with the physical pain and feeling of isolation. Therefore, enhancing your overall health and longevity with exercise will save you a great deal of stress. It provides you with the strength to cope with the current stress and toughens your body to be able to resist stress development.
